Please be advised that pursuant to the requirements of Act 110 of 2006, as amended, being the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, the Mayfield Township Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on April 5, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mayfield Township Hall, intersection of South Hannah and Center Roads, for the purpose of receiving comments on the following proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance for the Township of Mayfield, Grand Traverse County, Michigan.


Amendment # 21-01

Amend Article III Definitions, to add a definition of a campground. Amend Article IV, General Provisions and Requirements to add Section 4.27, development regulations for campgrounds. Amend Article XI, Agricultural District, Section 11.3 Uses Permitted when authorized by Special Use Permit to add: “V” Campgrounds subject to the requirements of Article IV, General Provisions, Section 4.27


Amendment # 21-01

Amend Article III Definitions, to add a definition of home based businesses. HOME BASED BUSINESS: A business operating out of a residence where the residence serves as the base of operation for a business activity that is conducted elsewhere, such as house painter or electrician. Amend Article IV General Provisions and Requirements to add Section 4.28, regulations for home based businesses. Amend Article XI, Section 11.2.1 Uses Permitted with Site Plan Approval to add: H. Home Based Businesses subject to the provisions of Article IV, Section 4.28


Amendment # 21-03

Amend Article III Definitions, to add a definition of a contactors yard. Amend Article IV General Provisions and Requirements to add Section 4.29, regulations for contractors yard. Amend Article XI Agricultural District, Section 11.3 Uses Permitted when authorized by special use permit to add: “W” Contractors Yard subject to the provisions of Article IV, Section 4.29 Amend Article XII General Commercial District, Section 12.3 Uses Permitted upon site plan approval by the planning commission to add: H. Contractor Yard subject to the provisions of Article IV, Section 4.29 Amend Article XIII Light Industrial District Section 13.2.1Uses Permitted when authorized by site plan approval by the planning commission to add: A. Contractors Yard subject to the provisions of Article IV Section 4.29

All persons are welcome and will be heard concerning these amendments.

Written comments will be accepted until April 1, at 5:00 p.m. and addressed to: Mr. William Crain, Secretary, Mayfield Township Planning Commission, 7622 Bott Road, Buckley, MI 49620

Township Board Meeting
& FY 2021-2022 Budget Hearing

The Mayfield Township Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed township budget for fiscal year 2021-2022 on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 7:00 pm, This meeting/hearing will be held virtually.

The property tax mileage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

A copy of the budget is available for public inspection by appointment at the Mayfield Township Office, 2991 W Center Road, Kingsley, MI 49649 or via email request. Call 231-263-4599 for more information.
